" Promoting & Networking with Other Artist in Your Community"

My name is Westcoast Mobley Jr and I am a UNSIGNED LAS VEGAS ARTIST !
And I've always wondered why don't unsigned artists promote more for
themselves in this crazy industry ! and me being a radio personality
and artist with a magazine i try to show artist love on their music
and their pursuit to greatness . But do artists understand that they
need to show love and promote the show that's supporting them and
playing their music throughout the year or month. It's nothing to put
an artist on your platforms or social media platforms but it's
disrespectful for an artist not to reciprocate the love back to the
community that's supporting you and your music. Most artists do NOT
get involved in their communities to give support to the community
leaders. IS THE MUSIC GAME BEING SELFISH WHEN IT COMES TO UP AND
COMING ARTIST AND THE PROMOTION OF SAID ARTIST ? My personal opinion
is that artist should be a promotion whirlwind when releasing their
music its should come natural to artist to let the world know about
their accompaniments and don't get me wrong i'm terrible at it myself
I have to step my game up all the time because if your gonna walk the
walk you gotta talk the talk as well being a artist i wear so many
hats i need to fall back at times but also being a podcaster and
magazine owner i have to have professionality from artist which is why
I lead by example !! We also as unsigned artist have to right to
perform all over the united states of America step out of your comfort
zone and be seen and be heard from all over the world.

*The Unfortunate Reality of Artist Support in the Music Industry*

As an artist, there's nothing more fulfilling than seeing your peers succeed. Supporting fellow musicians can be a powerful way to build a sense of community and camaraderie in the industry. However, the harsh reality is that not everyone is willing to reciprocate the support they receive.

Many artists are more than happy to accept help, guidance, and resources from their peers, but when it comes time to return the favor, they're nowhere to be found. This one-sided dynamic can be frustrating and demotivating, especially for emerging artists who are trying to break into the industry.

*The Risks of Being Taken Advantage Of*

When you're an artist trying to make a name for yourself, you're often eager to collaborate, share your expertise, and offer support to others in the hopes of building relationships and advancing your career. However, this willingness to help can sometimes be taken advantage of.

Some artists may see your generosity as an opportunity to exploit your resources, whether it's your network, your expertise, or your time. They may ask for favors, request collaborations, or seek advice without any intention of reciprocating or showing appreciation for your efforts.

*The Consequences of One-Sided Support*

When artists take advantage of others without giving back, it can have serious consequences. Not only can it lead to burnout and frustration for the artist being taken advantage of, but it can also create a toxic dynamic within the music community.

Emerging artists may become disillusioned with the industry and hesitant to offer support to others, fearing that they'll be taken advantage of. This can lead to a lack of collaboration, innovation, and progress within the industry.

*The Importance of Reciprocity*

So, how can we create a more supportive and reciprocal community within the music industry? The answer is simple: artists must be willing to give back as much as they take.

# Artist Beware: The Hidden Dangers of Being Used in the Music Industry

As an artist, you've worked tirelessly to build your brand, cultivate a loyal fanbase, and establish yourself as a force to be reckoned with in the music industry. Your unique ability to connect with audiences, promote your work, and leverage valuable resources has earned you a reputation as a savvy and influential player in the game.

But beware: your success has also made you a target for those looking to exploit your talents for their own gain.

In the cutthroat world of music, it's not uncommon for artists to be used by others for their connections, resources, and promotional prowess. This can take many forms, from being asked to collaborate with artists who have no intention of reciprocating the favor, to being pressured into sharing your valuable network and resources with those who don't have your best interests at heart.

These users may come in many guises, from fellow artists and industry professionals to managers, promoters, and even friends and family members. But don't be fooled.
These users are often motivated by self-interest, seeking to leverage your talents and resources to further their own careers and agendas. They may have no qualms about using you for their own gain, discarding you once they've gotten what they want. So how can you protect yourself?

1. *Set clear boundaries*: Be upfront and direct about what you're willing and not willing to do. Don't be afraid to say no to requests that don't align with your values or goals.
2. *Vet potential collaborators*: Do your research on anyone who approaches you with a collaboration or business opportunity. Check their track record, read reviews and testimonials, and trust your instincts.
3. *Prioritize your own goals*: Don't let others define your success or dictate your path. Stay focused on your own goals and aspirations, and don't be swayed by promises of quick fixes or easy fame.
